WIE (Women in Engineering) is an affinity group associated with the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Coimbra (SB-UC) dedicated to the promotion, recognition, and support of women in the fields of engineering, science, and technology.

Our objective is to foster an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring environment in which young girls, alongside all individuals, feel represented and empowered to develop their competencies, challenge and overcome stereotypes, and actively advance equal opportunities in both academic and professional contexts.

The WiE of SB-UC aims to establish an inclusive community of students committed to promoting and valuing the role of women in STEM fields. This group is open to all students, regardless of gender, and seeks to foster a dynamic and proactive environment that encourages constructive dialogue, exchange of ideas, and an active advocacy for the values and ideals we stand for.
